Those days during our parents’ time, living in flats were common. Flats were very small and meant for small families, but sometimes you get situations where mom, dad, grandparents and six kids live under one roof! (Okay, I might be exaggerating here, but you get what I mean). There weren’t space saving furniture back then, so people would fill their space with big sofa, big TV cabinet or even a huge dining table that would take up half of the flat’s living room. Can you imagine?
Today, if you are living in a small apartment, you might have heard of this before, “Wah! So many things! Some more your space so small!” Familiar?
Don’t worry, because today, you can use space saving furniture to maximize your small apartment and minimize clutter. Even though an average affordable apartment in Malaysia consist at least 900 square feet with 2 – 3 bedrooms at the most, you can still enjoy a spacious and well-decorated home with some of these simple space saving solution.

If you really think about it, you don’t need a coffee table in your living room. Your sofa is the main highlight of the room, and that’s just good enough even if it is a 2-seater sofa. If you are concerned about having guests over, and you don’t want them to sit on the floor, a stool can be used for sitting or for that cuppa’ coffee. For a small living area, you would probably need two of this at the most. When not in used, arrange it against the wall or at each side of the sofa as a side table.
