2015 is ending soon, and what’s coming up for new cars in 2016? There are few car brands that are launching their new range in 2016, however, we have picked up 5 that Malaysians may like.
1. BMW 3 Series F30 – Price RM 208,800 And Above

For BMW 3-Series fans, here is something that will excite you! The new 3-Series F30 LCI (Life Cycle Impulse), is the 6th-generation with a facelift. The front headlights has new LED daytime running lights and is altered slightly with more contoured angles towards both ends of the bumper, and for the rear, a new L-shaped taillights. An option for full LEDs and / or adaptable full LEDs are available. The car also featured an optional new sports rim that comes with 19″.
The 3-series had a spacious interior, which comes with a practical storage and functional instrument panel. To compliment the interior, an Aluminium trim finishing is brushed lenghtwise to highlight it’s Black high-gloss. An updated Navigation System Professional that comes with a 8.8″ control display above the center console, and also has a holder for 2 drinks. For leather seats lovers, you may opt for full leather, available in Dakota Oyster. There are 2 new family members under the new 3-Series F30:
The new 340i seriesis to replace 335i series, which is not available in our Malaysia market. The new car comes with:
- B58 turbocharged, inline-six engine.
- 3.0L engine, comes with 320 hp.
- Available in standard 8 speed automatic and 6 speed for manual transmission.
- 0-to-60 within 4.8 seconds (claimed by BMW)
- 4 cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor.
- With 250 hp.
- 0-to-60 in 6.1 seconds.
- 22-mile range in EV mode.
2. Mercedes GLC – Class – Estimated Price RM 300,000 And Above

This is the brand’s newest member to the C-Class family, GLC Crossover, and its a 2nd-generation model. The previous model was never heard off in Malaysia as Mercedes only offers it with a right-hand drive version.
The new car featured a pair of prominent headlights which comes with (optional) Mercedes LED Intelligent Light System. New stylish 18″ to 20″ alloy rims in various designs , a protective kit on the front, rear and both sides which suits the car’s attitude.
The dashboard features a modern, stylist and sophisticated look and there are few optional systems:
- Air Body Control – air suspension system.
- Larger central screen.
- Brake assist.
- Rear-end collision prevention system and etc.
As for the engine, GLC 300 is supported with a 2.0L (241 hp / 370Nm) turbocharged, 4 cylinder, that comes with a 9 speed automatic transmission. This car enables an improvement on fuel efficiency up to 19%.
3. Honda Civic – Estimated RM 113,198 And Above

Honda has been one of the well-known car brands in the world. The new Civic sedan is a facelift version with a refreshed look and enhanced performance. It has a very sleek exterior with the honeycomb design grille, a pair of fog lights on the front bumper, and headlights instilled with sharp High Intensity Discharged (HID*) equipped with an auto on/off function. It also featured a sporty 17″ Multi-Spoke alloy wheels*.
There’s a major improvement in the new Civic Sedan’s interior which featured a spaciousness, luxury and comfort. It has a *8-way Driver Power Seat for an easy adjustment of your seat while driving, plus a cup holder on both front and back passenger’s seat. The new Civic is available in 3 specifications:
- 1.8S with a 1.8L gasoline SOHC i-VTEC engine that can powered up to 141 hp.
- 2.0S and 2.0Navi with a 2L engine that powered up 155 hp.
- All 3 specifications come with both manual and automatic transmission.
*Only applicable for both Civic 2.0S and 2.0Navi.
4. Subaru Levorg – Estimated Price RM 165,000 And Above

For all Subaru die hard fans, the brand is launching it’s Levorg in the 2nd quarter of 2016. The new Subaru Levorg is an all-wheel drive system car that is based on the brand’s Impreza wagon. The car has a very sporty exterior, 18″ alloy wheels, LED healights and comes with ample cargo space!
For the interior, the seats are partly leather-upholstered in black with blue stitching for a modern, and yet sporty style. It comes with 3.5″ full-colour touchscreen infotainment system, a new gear box to suits its engine which comes with 6-notional gears for easy flick through with paddleshifters.
Levorg is powered by a new 1.6L, Direct Injection turbocharged Boxer, flat-four petrol engine. The drivetrian of this car is only automatic (Lineatronic CVT), delivering power to all 4 corners via a clutch-based all-wheel drive system that can hit 0-to-62 mph in 8.9 seconds (170hp / 250Nm).
5. Proton Perdana – Price N/A

Our national car Proton will be launching a new Perdana based on 8th-generation Honda Accord, and the exterior is sleeker with distinctive headlights design that includes LED daytime running lights. Its body has more curves, compared with the original’s design. Its front still has the Proton’s look, however its rear featuring the exhaust is integrated into the bumper, together with the reflectors and number plate.
This new Perdana has a redesigned door handle with a button for a keyless entry. The interior looks luxurious with a touchscreen in the middle, creme or white colour layout which matches both the steering wheel and car seats to give it a sophisticated look.
For the engine, it comes with either Honda’s 2.0L R20A3 (154 hp/189 Nm) and 2.4L i-VTEC (177 hp/222 Nm). Available in 5 speed automatic transmission, too bad, no CVT is available in this new model.
